Job search advice

I can break these cuffs
Well, I had a phone interview with Cree today, they are a large maker of LEDs and the job is exactly what I want to be doing, research into process and controlling the processing of semi conductor devices. I want to send a thank you letter to the interviewer and I really want to let him know that this is like my dream job, but I also don;t want to come off as desperate or off putting. Basically what I am asking is is it possible to write a thank you letter thanking the interviewer for giving me the chance to interview with the company and considering me for the job while conveying how interested I am in the job without sounding desperate, any advice is truly appreciated.

Just tell them that you enjoyed interviewing with them. Tell them again why you would be qualified for the job and that's basically it. That's what I usually do after my finance interviews with banks and stuff.

no, that is one of the worst things to do is send a thank you letter to the interviewer. The best way to let them know how much you want the job is to say "thank you for taking time out of your day for interviewing me, I am really excited to get the opportunity to work with you". also if later on they tell you that they choose someone else ask them if there is anything further you can do to be better considered for the job if it becomes available again or if a similar position opens up and again thank them for their time.

Nope not really, after you interview with them you are supposed to follow up with an email, at least thats what we do for "business" related jobs, finance, marketing, mgmt. etc. It shows that you care and are eager to obtain a job.

I disagree. I think some kind of followup letter/email/phone call shows that your really interested in THAT job and not just looking for any job.

OP: I think you should definitely thank them for their time, either a letter or email would work. It doesn't need to be a novel though, just a really quick thank you along with how you think you'd be a good fit. Don't write anything lengthy because chances are, if it's too long they won't read it and it could hurt your chances.
