I believe that JL will only recone W7's in house.

They are very expensive, and will check the serial numbers.

You could get a dish dust cap from Fi and glue it over that.

just gotta pull the broken part of the dust cap\cone off carefully, and get a new dustcap from somewhere else and glue it on.

might not look the best, but it will work fine.

if you got a whole new recone from jl..you would have to send it off and it cost 400+shipping both ways for a new recone

Wouldn't doubt it.

It is true, at the end it is $400 but they will be taking off the whole suspension assembly and replacing it with a brand new one. That includes the dustcap, W cone, surround, vrc, spider and vc.

Now you could glue your own dustcap but if it is off center then at high speed it will make the whole suspension wobble. You know what happens after that.

I was quoted $300 plus shipping for a recone on a 13 W6 from JL.

One way of keeping people from sending them in. You may get lucky and find one on ebay. They pop up from time to time. if its a 12..
