I just got some VR650-CXi pretey cheap from 919motoring on here (many thanks), and I'm just wondering if I should use the HPF in my amp to cut out some low freq?

I had the HPF set at more like 110Hz with the sh!t Ford speakers that were in the doors because they distorted liek crazy.

not altered the seting since I fitted the JL's so wondering if the amp's HPF is needed and how low to go with it?

They sound 1000 times better than the ford crap and all I did was fit them and (because I'm a cheap ***) rana roll of peal n seal into each door.

Usually, people go down to 80hz I believe. Lower than that or too much bass boost and you may damage something, unless you have your gain(s) set properly.

I'd do @ 75 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and cross the sub @ 85, that way it is a smooth transition.
