JL subwoofers

I have a 2007 mustang gt convertible and want some bass. I am definitely getting a JL sub, but I don't know which one to go with. I wouldn't really say I'm a bass head, but I like to be able to turn it up sometimes. I want it to be able to be very loud inside and outside of the car, but also I want to be able to have it sound good SQ wise. I listen to pretty much everything except country. I would get an amp that could push the full rms power for whichever one I get. These are the main candidates:

I have heard nothing but good things about all of these subs, but I really don't know which to go with. Price will be taken into consideration, but I have the patience to save up for something expensive if it's gonna be worth it. Thanks in advance!!

Jl isn't the best out there. It's over priced mainstream. It's decent gear but way over priced... Now that's out the way. U have a w7 link up there and a w0... The w7 is jl best woofer and can handle 1500watts clean n sound great doing it. The W0 is like there lowest line of woofer... If money doesn't matter get a jl w7 13" with a jl 1000/1 amp and go ham!

Being in a convertible and lack of room ...look into the JL shallow mount subs a pair of 10s set up right would sound sweet ...

What makes it better than the w7?

How good is DD stuff?

I'm not going to try and sway you from JL due to you being head strong on that brand and that's cool. I'd do a W6 or 2 and a 1000/1 amp and I'd have to think you would be pleased. My friend has the W6 sealed box and it's not going to win a competition in the lanes but it filled the void of no bass in his SUV. Maybe just buy the subs and have someone build you a nice box. That's what I'd do

Slash series amps are great and while the W7 is obscenely priced it is a nice sub. Do yourself a favor and have a professional box built and you should be pretty happy... the caveat there being don't expect a whole lot out of a convertible or a trunk car, both are very difficult to get loud

Friend did a 144.1 in his spyder 1 15 DD95 and a D5 amp. I know it's not 150+ but I thought it wasn't bad for single sub setup.

Like @maylar said, delay the turn on to the amplifier only. 3 to 5 seconds should take care of it.
