JL Subs... Opinions Please

Hi, I currently have 2 10w3v3 in a JL Stealthbox in my 350z (1000/1 amp) and I was thinking about swapping them out for a single 10w7 or 12w7 but no shops here in Miami seem to have any on display!

For those who have heard 10w3's, the w6 and w7 series, can you please discribe the sound difference between them. This would be greatly appreciated! The only w6 I've heard was powered with 250 watts!!, didn't sound great either in the display room. I'm upset that tweeter stores closed down, not many decent show rooms left, if any.

look around before you buy more JL's

If you're looking boomy bass then the w6-w7 will do the job

the w7 line is an expensive line to buy new, if you can find a deal then buy it.

the w7 line a epicenter will not only flex your car, but it will make your bumper on your car sound like it going to fall off.

if your looking more for SQ subs, look more into IDMAX or Focal's,Dayton,etc....

there are some

Love the W6v2 and the Gotham, but that's about it.

Watch, somebody'll say that's "off topic", too...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you dont have them available locally, buy something else.

JL wont warranty anything bought online (except Crutchfield), and they wont repair or recone any JL subs bought used.......unless you dont mind spending as much to recone the sub as a new sub would cost.

Seriously, dont buy it if you cant buy it authorized.

I liked my W7 8" but haven't heard the others. Nothing wrong with JL subs other then their prices. You can find just as good or better for less but like another user posted we need to know your goals... SPL SQ?

I honestly don't know what I'm looking for.. All I know is that my 2 10w3's are loud, hurt the ears if turned high but..

Alright, about 5 years ago I was laughed at by some audio guy because I had xplod components on my front doors of my 97' Corolla (I would too now that I'm more understanding of audio), well anyways, he took me into his car to listen to his system, I noticed his highs weren't ear piercing and I could feel the bass in the air while not having the boom I had with the two xplod 12" I had in the back. I thought his system was crap, lol.. I like loud ear piercing booming bass back then, now I'm 21, I feel like I've out grow that. I never asked him what his setup was since I wasn't fasinated.

- I assume I'm looking for a sub that would pressurize the cabin feel without being too harsh on ears. I read a review on the Seas Lotus and that sounded convincing, would prefer to hear it though, but where??

What do you guys recommend? I would prefer to just replace out the two 10w3's using the same enclosure, possible?
