Can anyone back up their claim to put out the same power from 1.5ohm - 4ohm and with any voltage from 11 upt 14.4? If this is the case how come more manufacturers arent doing the same thing?

Perfect for the installs where you keep the stock alternator. Am I right?

As far as I can tell, everything is just dandy with my setup. Though, I don't sit back there with a DMM, so there's no way for me to say for sure.

As for other companies doing this; I believe there are a couple. I imagine though, money is an object. Seems to me this would be a costly technology, but I dunno.

If your vehicle has a relatively low-output alternator then I wouldn't go putting a pair of 1000/1s in there and expect a positive outcome...

I dunno guys....I have a 90A stock alternator & battery. I've done the Big 3, but that's the only electrical upgrade. My car takes it just fine. I only get dimming at high volume, but I don't listen to it that loud anyway.

Yeah, I know that the 1000/1's will still draw current to make the power, but, I was refering to the 500/1 or even the 250/1. It was the first I heard of any amp doing this, but I haven't looked into JL for their price mainly. Even thought they have the possibility to draw that many amps, at least you get decent performance. Not like some of the cheaper companies that have their output drop considerally with voltage drop.

Thanks for the input, I just wanted to kow if it was for real not just a marketing gimmick.

The concept of a tighly regulated powr supply isn't new at all. The old precision power amps were like this. The problem with regulated supplies is that if the voltage is drooping because of current draw, the amp will make it worse by trying to draw even more amperage at the lower voltage to make its power.

The multi-rail power supply that allows it to do the same power regardless of the load is great if you run a high impedance load but if you want more power at lower impedances, it doesn't do you any good.

I like my 500/1 because of its flexability with different ohm loads. The eq and output section along with remote bass knob gives these amps another edge. If you want to run subs at less than 1.5 ohm loads this is not the amp for you. These work well with jl subs especially the 3 ohm vc.
