JL no longer underrating subs, some info...

Strange they didn't change the rating chart. I was planning on putting 600rms into my 13w6v2 but now I might try 750rms if that is what the site is saying.
May not have gotten to that just yet. And I agree with Jim J the difference will be minimal if at all.

This is sort of sad because for the people who are concerned about power ratings, when almost solely judging the capabilities of a sub, most of the time don't run amplifiers that produce rated power or just don't run them correctly.

Pretty ironic!

I feel bad that JL took this route. I think it's more sad that they changed their power ratings before their prices. I wonder if the same thing will happen to their amps later down the road. But, I really doubt that because everybody knows that 1 JL watt is equal to 1.5 watts from any other amp.. hahha.b

unfortunately even myself when I was new to car audio. Wow what does that sub handle.. WOW 1200 watts that must be an amazing sub. blah blah. Kinda like when the audiobahn titanium came out. i believe it was rated 4000rms on the 18. Even if it took that power. It was POWER eating sub. You could have went with a good 1000 watt rms sub and got the same output
