looking at the jl power level graph for this speaker, 250w is just under the optimum power (looks like 300-325 is perfect).4 13tw5 of course no doubt... But why give the tw's half of its rated power?
Just went into RE site, its an awsome looking sub, anyone heard it? is it a SQ, SPL or SQL sub? How would it compare to the jl tw5?Check out the new re audio SL its 3 inches tall and has 16.5 xmax, looks nice imo
You think they designed and built a slim-line SPL sub? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifJust went into RE site, its an awsome looking sub, anyone heard it? is it a SQ, SPL or SQL sub? How would it compare to the jl tw5?
How much is it?
Wait wait wait....that's not an SQ setup?! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gifOr someone builds a setup with dual 15's on strapped 3000 watt amps and calls it SQ. Silliness. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
Its what ever the owner decides to call it. Duh!Wait wait wait....that's not an SQ setup?! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
No, you can't. There is more to an SQ versus SPL setup than where you set your gains. You would, at very least, need to be running an interchangeable port setup before id even consider agreeing that your system is 'both'. Not to down your system in any way, Im sure its nice.I have dual 12's on 1000 watts, is it an SQ setup? Yes, the way I have it adjusted it is, can it also be an SPL setup? Yes, if I turn the sub level up then it is definitely an SPL set up. You can have both in the same setup if you adjust it right.
True, but it isn't traditional SQ. And yes, you are right, mine is an SQ setup that just so happens to be pretty **** loud. I built the box to Nick's spec's which were geared for SQ.No, you can't. But in the end, we are arguing semantics. I have no link to a definition of an SPL setup. So like I said, in the end its all in what the owner wants to call it. Silly as it may be.
BTW, 1000 watts on two 12's is a far cry from the example I gave.
1000/1 plus 13w7. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifhere's my ? 1000/1 and a 12w7 ported or 1000/1 and four 13tw5's sealed? what do you guys think?
