JL HD Series Amplifiers?

What do you all think of these amps. I am looking to either run a set of zr components up front or 2 sets of c5 components plus 2 10 inch subs.

I am looking at the 900/5 if I went with 4 speakers and 2 subwoofers.

I am also looking at the 600/4 if I went with the zr's up front and the subs out back. My question about this is, can I just bridge the rear channels and get 300 watts rms x 1 at 2 ohms and still have 150 watts rms x 2 at 4 ohms for the front? (or will that not work)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just get past JL. Lots of $$ for nothing special. Look into other amps to get more goodness for less money. Plus, I've heard less than favorable reviews on full range class D amps. I'd hold off on that technology until it's perfected.

The only advantage I see to the HD 900/5 is that it is SMALL for the power it gives you. I considered purchasing one for my Mustang, but I am perfectly content with what I have now.

Also, I don't know if you can bridge 2 channels on the 600/4 @ 2 ohms. I think its minimum impedance is 2 ohms stereo or 4 ohms bridged.

As for full-range class d, I highly recommend listening to one before you take the plunge. The JL Audio HD series sounds decent, but the original Alpine PDX amplifiers blew chunks.

If you are stuck on JL, I have no problem with the Slash series. Possibly a 300/2 for the ZR's and a 500.1 for the subs.

If you can look passed it, there are MANY other companies making very nice products that can better suit you and be cheaper.

The HD amps do not impress me more than most amps except that they have a small footprint. Which tends to not be very important to most people.

I am not stuck on JL audio (sorry if I made everyone think that.) My dealer only carries kenwood, JL, and Focal as far as car audio is concerned and the other dealer carries Alpine and Kenwood, I don't have anyone within a reasonable driving distance to go audition speakers and amps. So, I was just trying to get a feel for what is available to me.

I made a blind purchase in the past, and I had regretted it until I sold my truck now I am looking to start over again.
