jl hd 1200/1 blows fuse

my JL hd keeps blowing the fuse when its cranked too loud.

i rechecked my ground and it was a loose so i rebolted it and now it holds up better against blowing the fuse (plays louder longer) but still eventually blows it.

any ideas?

god hates you from switching sundown - jl lol i had a amp do this i just put in larger fuses (30 to 40) it didnt do it anymore but im no amp tech i rather someone with better knowlage help you.

Bigger fuses would probably work/help.... That's what I had to do before also, had a Kicker that wasn't getting enough power. But talk to an amp tech.

Switch to ANL fuse. Most decent 4 ga supply units will run decently on 125 amp ANL fuse. AGU fuses are unpredictable and heat up and cool down to wear out the wire element and weaken over time. Even a Blade fuse is more dependable than the AGU fuses

Fuses are there to protect you and your equipment. A fuse pops when too many amps get pulled through it. In my experience fuses blow when there's a short in the system that without the fuse would end up starting a fire. Or maybe exploding a battery (which if you haven't seen/heard a car battery explode just be thankful).

If your system has been running good for a long time and now it's suddenly blowing fuses I would tell you to trace your main power cable for the spot that a sharp edge wore through the insulation.
