JL Audio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

aight yall, heres what my amp is set at. tell me if its good or not.

Output mode-full range

filter freq (hz) - 40

filter slope - 12 db

filter mode - LP

Infrasonic filter mode - on

Infrasonic frequency (hz) - 22

Bass EQ - on

"Q" - 1.1

Center Frequency - 40

Boost db - +13

-----------------------------

Amp LP filter - 12 db

Filter frequency - 65

-----------------------------

input voltage - low

signal sensing - off

tell me if this can be improved for optimum sound quality or not.

eew on the bass boost. waaaaaaay too much. you can bump the LPF up to 80 or so. Find out what your box is tuned to, and raise the infrasonic filter up a bit to prevent your subs from playing below tuning.

Q is the width of the equalizer curve. I would suggest turning the bass boost off, and adjusting your gain correctly.
exactly what do u want me adjust? and how do i adjust it for optimum quality? so u want the bass boost all the way off? tell me everything i need to do and ill do it.

dont try to trick me tho and blow my shit tho plz...

try to trick you into blowing your shit? surprised with all that bb you haven't had any problems yet.

To do everything properly, you'll need a digital multimeter so that you can accurately tell how much power your amp is putting out. You'll also need a CD with a 40hz, -6db sine wave on it.

But basically, you want to set your gains so that your amp is putting out its rated power and no more, so that you know you're sending your subs a clean signal. I say turn the bass boost off, because it boosts the 40hz frequency, and makes it louder than the other freqs, making your bass unnatural and peaky.

Go there and tell them that you want your system tuned correctly. Because right now, it sounds like a kindergartener set it.

Tell them you want:

the low pass filter set to 80 (although 65 isnt bad)

the infrasonic filter set to about 30hz (maybe higher depending on what the box is tuned to)

the bass boost OFF

the gain set by multimeter to:

31.6v if your subs are wired to 2 ohms

44.7v if your subs are wired to 4 ohms
