jl is a solid brand...

value wise it's not that great...

being as you can save money on buying something different and it can sound just as good...

my only real problem with JL is the f'in dumbass guys at stores who tell my friends that they will do 170 db with a 1000/1 and 2 12"w7's.... while I am standing there...

and when they get called out on it they get pissed and kick you out... because you have absolutely no input on what it would take to hit a 170..

or how hard it is to achieve...

also they don't like it when you tell them that when they wanna charge someone for a custom box, they should make it atleast a little different from exact jl specs...

just my thoughts...

this guy is obviously pissed for not buying jl's,,,, kind of like when someone coudlnt afford the leather and navigation package on there new car, oh and couldnt get it in black. He would say "i didnt want black cause its hard to clean, i didnt want leather cause it gets to hot in the summer, I didnt want nav cause im gonna eventually get an aftermarket one thats better... You know trying to convince thereselves that there choices were best........ha ha. I have no problem if someone says that they like something better then jl,, but to talk so negativley about jl as he did,,,ha ha,, he obviously has issues..

my last setup i used zapco equipment...

I am buying a setup for my usaci vehicle that is about 3.5k...

I definiteley "couldn't afford JL bc it is the f'in shit" your absolutely f'in right... bc i decided to be cheap and buy zapco over jl..

its cool,,,and i asure you,, im a skeptic,, i wouldnt just simply fall for what they push at a stoor... my ears just took a liking to the jl's...thats all....lets change the topic,, can you help me out with 6 1/2's im totally at a loss due to all the choices.. what do you like? top of the line quarts,boston,"JL haha"? ps,, it was directed at treysports or something like that,, his comments on page 1 of ths topic..

I like the zapco red component set...

two-way wise I like crossfire 6.5's....

JL has good sounding speakers, but when I was in a store a while back I could have shelled out an extra 20 bux and got a set of focals...

zapco has the best sounding components that i have heard...

very smooth range...

I like the sound of silk tweeters better than aluminum...

every set of tweets with aluminum has sounded harsher than silk has to me...

I enjoy focals as well and they are a little cheaper...
