Jl audio jx 500/1d keeps going to protect mode

Take a pic of your Amps Current settings and post on here as well. You could be overdriving the amp and clipping the hell out of that amp..Eventually that amp will go, and possibly your sub if not careful

Check the amp ground and then start checking amp and source settings like mentioned above.
Checked the ground already seem like everything is ok

I even connected the ground directly on the negative on the battery and it still did the same

So I been doing testing for the last hour

I hooked up a charger to my car and there it didn't turn off anymore it didn't go to protect mode nothing

it has been playing for 30 min straight full blast and nothing has happened so it is a voltage problem this amp needs to be 13+ voltage so what I am doing is charging my battery for like an hour

I disconnected the charger and it was still playing great so I decided to charge my battery for about an hour and see how that goes

You can take the battery out and let it sit for a day..and check with a DMM and if it drops below 11v its usually a bad battery.Have you gone to Orileys or Autzone and had them check your voltage on the Alternator yet? Its FREE.They can even charge your battery to see if it will hold a charge for FREE also

What is the voltage at the amp when it shuts off? Sounds like a bad ground or serious voltage drop.
With the charger on

The voltage is at 13 14 13.5 14 12.9

Like is pretty high and the amp is just bumping hard lol

I charger the battery for an hour and drove around with the speaker and the amp hasn't turned off

So I'm charging the battery for another hour

And Ima check my ground one more time

Maybe grind where is bolt on to

When the charger wasn't on there

It was 11 12 12.5 11 12

It wouldn't really go above 13.5

You have a dead battery and should probably replace it because it's leading to voltage drop that sends the amp into protect mode.
