all im saying is its ashame they don't cost a reasonable amount....

they made a killer woofer and amps and charged a ton to where only few could afford it.. i think logic tells you that you should shop around..

my local jl dealer sucks, plus the prices are outragious, sure way to keep car audio popular... no one can afford it here..

Ive said this before. The original argument from JL for the pricing on the W7 was due to the large tooling cost, being completely proprietary. Im confident those initial tooling costs have been covered, and yet the speaker's price tag remains. So now the argument is demand justifies the cost versus supply. IOW, its worth it because enough people still buy it at that price to maintain said price. They could drop the price and sell more, but they consciously chose not to. You are welcome to draw your own conclusions as to why.

Car audio is the same as every consumer product on the market. People pay for brands unfortunetly. Its always going to be that way.

Cereal, TVs, Cars, Shoes, Clothes, beer, etc.....

There will always be a more generic brand that may have similar performance, but gets looked at as inferior because it doesn't come with brand name recognition. Now stop *****ing and buy yourself:

Coco Roos, 25" Daewoo TV, a Datsun, pair of Adidums (4 stripes, very odd), plain color t shirts, and a case of Glueks. See you can be a smart budget shopper!

not every dealer has the same pricing. i only pay 528 for them whether i buy 1 or 10,000 which is why we dont sell their amps much.

In this economy I cant afford to compete with the internet and stock 20 amps that may or may not sell as fast as another amp that will fly off the shelves and are as good or better than anything JL makes.

just my .02 cents from a practical standpoint.

F that I love JL Audio...they have never let me down and have some super clean bass I will be a life long customer......the problem is you gotta find a cool audio shop that will take care of you.....JL AUDIO is top notch!!!

my family in Utah (myself included) are pretty good friends with Ron, he used to hook us up with free cable when I had my shop their in Ogden. I take care of every customer the same, top notch. but in this economy I cant stock an amp that retails for $1k and costs me 1/2 that, when with other brands I have what is called net pay, which means I have say 90 or 180 days to pay for the order, which gives me the opportunity to sell it first before I have to buy it. JL requires all orders to be paid in advance! thats why most of their dealers are big box stores Like cartoys ect.. very few actual good shops.

I like JL just fine. But the product is worth maybe what dealers cost is, but not much more. and have you ever had to call them and get transfered 20 times and sit on endless music hold to get an issue resolved? their customer service is pathetic. If I did business that way, I woulda been out of business 15 years ago!
