JL Audio disappoints me

My brother bought a blown 13w7 (intentionally) and we live about 30 minutes from JL and we called down there to see if we could drop it off and if they would give us a dealon repairing it because the speaker is 5 months old and looks PERFECT! They said its the same price no matter what $425 and then it only has a 90 day warr...Im currently about to start my build and I can tell u this....Ill be needing some advice from you guys about what subs to do. On top of that price they had the secretary talking to me and when I wanted to speak to someone that built speakers she said Nope u get me....thats it. I have always been a JL guy with my cars but now its time to move onward. I think Focal is gonna get some of my Dough and RE XXX maybe or DD. No more W7 for me....for doing my brother wrong. I thought because I live a half hour away they would hook me up and for being a 15 year customer with 3 full systems with all their stuff in it. I've been eyeballing Omega's pretty hard lately. Looks like a good price/performance ratio to me so far.

I once had a JL guy tell me "The W7 will be our flagship subwoofer for the next couple of years, there is no need to update it or redo it. It is the baddest sub on the market, and always will be.."

That right there made me laugh, then cry, cause a company just cant be that bad towards there customers.

ya, thier service kinda sucks. look into dd, a 3512 will kill a w7 in every aspect except in sq but that a toss up.

doing anything at a nominal price and will **** any chance they get......

They are a retail sales product plain and simple and will only deal with customers

who pay full retail........Paying full retail is for chumps.....besides

you can easily out do a W7 for less than half what they ask.....try an FI Q

to the OP... just own up to buying JL's shit stream of marketing bs and move on. There are plenty of choices for you out there these days. I thoroughly suggest you read thru the forums here and don't go after every boner sub some of the boneheads on here push on people. Make up your own mind, learn and read here and soak it in, then go buy some wang.

I always loved the look of the W7 and wouldnt mind having one. Never heard one, but the price is wha turns me off. But my AQ could take 2K nicely, at half the price. So hmmmmm.....
