What do you guys think about this sub as far as the sound quality, how loud it is, and any other general information about it. I was wondering if anyone would say it hits and carries the bass good with one or two inside of a custom built box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Around here JL is hated on mostly. Quality products but at the same time OVERPRICED.

For the money you can find something better to suit your needs

I suggest doing research and looking around until you are familiar with different products

Lol thanks for the input guys I'm reading up about them now. In my old car I had two 12 inch MA Audio subs, a custom built box and a 1200w. I can't remember the specs on them exactly since that has been years ago. But even with that setup I managed to win two sound off trophies lol. I miss having boom lol. I want something that sounds great, hits hard, and can carry pretty descent. But thank you again for your input guys.

I also have a head unit question if you guys wouldn't mine taking a look at it I would greatly appreciate it as well. http://www.caraudio.com/forums/head-units/493781-head-unit-question.html I also plan on getting a custom built box for the next car I buy whether the box is ported, vented, enclosed or what ever. I just want what would have the best overall sound.

I haven't seen JL hated to much around here, but you have been around longer than me. I do agree the subs are overpriced for the output that you get, but its because JL does extensive research to find really good parts and they actually have patents as well on some of their designs. They shouldn't be hated on though because JL is a good brand, they make really nice quality subs, just to expensive.

If you actually have the money for a w7, go ahead. Their is better out their for half the price, but if your getting a serious deal on one, go for it. If you want to save some money, just get two 12w6's. They will hit harder and sound better than the one 13w7.

At last comp I seen 2 of these on 2 1000/1s do a 146 on music. That is very impressive. Im a JL hater myself, but I was shocked when I saw this...ported box in a suv

I read a little about the DC leve 5 12's and I like what I had read. I was wondering if anyone on here has had any personal experience with them.
