JL Audio 10w3v2 Sealed versus Ported

A while back I posted that I was a little disappointed with my JL Audio 10w3v2 subwoofers in my Mustang, and now that I have them sitting in my 1997 Civic, I am still a little disappointed in them. Currently, they are each in a .75 cubic foot sealed enclosure getting power fed to them by a Rockford Fosgate P5002 crossed over at 80hz.

Would going ported gain me a significant improvement in low end performance and what price would I pay for going ported with regards to how the subwoofers perform? Thus far, the only good thing about these JL Audio subwoofers is the fact that I got them for $90 for the pair... If I had paid the MSRP of $279 each for them, I would have been REALLY disappointed!

they sound much better ported....fire them at the rear of the car, port also

Cool deal, looks like I will be building a ported box soon! Is the JL Audio spec ported box good enough or should I go with another design?

their box designs are right on

they designed the sub, I would think they know what box they would work best in.

I pick ported as well. But when I had three of them sealed in my ranger I was a very happy camper.
