I have the 1000/1 hooked up to 13w7. Well I think this is normal, but its annoying. After about 20min bumping it, the sub doesnt seem like its hitting that hard anymore. Is the amp like getting hot so it only produces some power to the sub? I got a mustang convertible and the trunk is small. Should I get cooling fans? I want to bump it for a long time. Its so annoying, but the lyrics is loud and fine and dont turn off.

Maybe its your alternator cant supply enough juice so the sub is getting quieter. same thing happened to me. ( i have a 65a alt.)

I have a 00 mustang GT. Alt is 120 or more I think. I have 2 1.0 farad caps, optima yellow top. I dont think its the alternator. Nothing flashes like its losing power or blinking headlights. I think most systems cant play at max volume for a long time. am i wrong?

nono exact same thing happend to my car... my lights dont flash, but the sub just out of nowhere suddenly gets quiet. umm were your bumping with the engine on or off? cuz that also makes a world of diff.

with engine on, its been doing this for awhile. I can hear it in my ear, i know when the sub gets low like the amp isnt producing full power. this annoys me so much. its not happening with other people that i know.

after 20 minutes you get pretty used to the loudness. It's just your ear.

Those caps can actually mask problems with your charging system. Your lights may not dim or flash because of the caps even though your alt. isn't keeping up. Not saying it's your alternator, but it's still possible even though your lights don't dim.

I've heard some people claim that caps could be used in place of a HO alternator, which is total BS.

By the way, your stock alternator is 130A.

I have the JL 450/4 amp. I used to have the kicker 600.4 and it was same problem. Why would my ears get used to eat? I can hear the difference. It just doesnt seem like putting out full bass.

What is the total RMS output of your amps combined?

By the way, I didn't mean to imply the caps could be causing the problem. I just said they can mask/hide problems with the charging system.

Check your voltage with voltmeter...only way to know really

so where is this coming to? Do your subs keep working fully after 20 or 30 minutes of banging it? What about convertible?

ya know... driving + top down = cant hear music as much as closed cabin
