Is an MTX 311d sufficient to run an Image Dynamics IDQ 10?

I've got a nice MTX 311d I picked up online for $125 new. I'm planning to use it to run one Image Dyamics IDQ 10 inch Sub with 2 ohms of impedence. Apparently the 311 does 310 x 1 into 2 ohms, but can bench at times 390x1. The recommended power for the IDQ is 100 to 500 watts.

Is this a good setup for the IDQ?

wait aint an idq 10" rated at 300?
300 max for the 10, but if you bridge the MTX you get 310 (rated, generally more).

I'm in this for pure sound quality, I don't want the sub underpowered so that its incapable of its full range.

Was considering a 12, but even thats rated at 500, so I'm hitting the power band about square in the middle of it. The problem I had was that the 421 was to little at 4 ohms and to much at 2, I don't want to go deaf.

Already got over my "rattle the bolts loose" phase with two black gold twelves and an old sentrek amp that was an absolute TANK. Thing lasted 10 years, and was less than 180 bucks. The good ol' days //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I think that amp would make that sub loud enough.

You must remember that all mtx amps are underrated and they are very solid amps.
