Jl 500/1 vs. Rf 801s??

I'm having a dilemma here. The RF amp is around 300 more watts but seriously hungry for power and more has THD than the JL.

The JL is class D , very easy on the electrical system , and a cleaner sounding amp in general , also has WAY better controls like subsonic filter and selectable slopes too. BUT ITS 300 LESS WATTS.

The sub will be a DD 1515. Prolly running in 4 cubes @ 34-38hz. Should i keep the RF or should i go down in watts a little , stop raping my poor old alternator , and gain a lot better tuning abilities?

Also , will 300 watts difference be seriously noticeable?

The JL is easy on the electrical system? I owned a 500/1 v1 and that amp was about as efficient as any other 500 watt class AB amplifier that I owned. Heck, I'd be willing to bet that the Lunar L1500 (a 500 x 1 class ab amp with 70 amps of fusing) in my wife's car is more efficient than the 500/1 was. In other words, the JL Audio amp was NOT that efficient!

Also, I'd be willing to bet that Rockford Fosgate 801s is closer to 1,000 watts RMS than it is to 800 watts RMS.
