JL 500.1 shutting off?

Hey there everyone need to ask a quick question. I have the JL running a RE SE 12" @2ohm about 3/5 gain and after 3months of runing i moved my amp a little to work 2 days ago and now it keeps losing power fully. The power led just turns off when the bass hits then comes back on. The higher the volume the more it happens. Is this a sign of a bad ground. The ground is buried and its cold and raining so havent felt like looking.

Any suggestions?

Danny

well finally got out there and cleaned every connection with no luck. turned the gain down and i can live with it and it doesnt cut out now? not making since to me. Ive ran the amp same place same everything for 3 months and now it starts this? anyways if you have any ideas i may have over looked lmk.

Thanks

Danny

Can you use a digital voltmeter to see if the voltage is dropping on the main power wire and or the remote wire? I had too many things running off the remote wire and the voltage would drop and turn off the amp. Have you tried new signal cables for the hell of it?

Well i will check all ground under the hood i didnt think about that plus i am gonna take the amp apart tomorrow and clean it. I have a $90 price cut AC Delco amp. 850 cca and i think 110 min reserve. 3 months old now. I will check all grounds also tomorrow

Thanks

Danny

Im sure he ment the body not that hood. I have a astro which has screwed up ground system ne ways. so its not the best ground.

So for a real update i cleaned the amp reset all settings turned the amp up with no Bass Boost(somehow it was up a little last time) well i can atleast have some bass now before haveing the problem with good sound. My plan is when it warms up a little today through sunday is run 2 4ga under the van to 2 distro block and see if that solve most of my problems. Atleast that will make one less possible problem!

Thanks again for the help

Danny

well if my RE was blown id commit *******! lmao nah it was just on the astros the ground isnt good enought for much amp ran 2 wires straight off the batery. So all is well now.

Thanks

Danny
