JL 500/1 Repair Question

I plan on taking my 500/1 amp to my local authorized JL dealer to send in for repair. A friend told me they could give me a brand new amp from the store and I just pay the listed difference. Is that true? and also, how much should I expect to be paying? I'll be going after work just wanted to get an idea.

no probably not if its not under warranty.

depends whats wrong with the amp.

the cost to repair it will probably be alot because its JL, probably the same amount as a new amp

Well I have had two bad experiences with repaired amps so IMO buying a new one is the way to go. Skip the 500/1 and get a new HiFonics Brutus 1610D 1600 watt amp for only about $250 shipped via ebay.
