Hey guys, new here. i was looking at reviews on the pdx-5 alpine amp. it's a 75x4 +300x1 amp @14.4v. now, i thought the rating on the amp was the max it can do. i mean unless the more volts you push the more power goes thru. but i read 1 guy said he had bench tested his amp before he put it in and he said it ran 110x4 + 422x1 @14.4v. i've never heard of getting more than rated power only getting less than rated throughout all the wiring and such. is this guy full of it or what? thanx

ps all of this @ 4hms not 2ohms.

that seems kinda crazy when the amperage is their selling point. if that was the case you would think that they'd advertise it to be more than never less than. well thanx that's even better for my decision.

its not crazy its better for biz, if u say u have a amp rated for 1500 rms and actually puts out 1700 rms the customer will be more than happy to buy from them again

you want to talk about under rated... my "3000 watt" Z1 clamped over 5200 @ 1.13ohm on 14.2V

Also, the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear "under rated" would have to be SunDown...
