The JL 1000/1 is sexy as hell.

But if you're hellbent on JL, you can use the 1000/1 to power it. But you have to be careful on your gains. Not sure how much the W7 can take.

Well I had a pair of RE SE 10s powered by a us amp md1dn and both dustcaps kinda came off on them and that really sucked.... my friend and most of his family are all big on JL he recommended me JL from the start but I went RE anyways....now I'm starting a new setup and he let me have his JL 1000/1 which is in excellent condition...so I plan on getting the 10 w7 next week and just wanted to get a second opinion if it would be okay together cuz I know nothing about car audio.

well I already blew money on the RE SE 10 and the US amp .... and my friend is giving me the 1000/1 so I just need to buy the sub...and I just want 1 10 be good enough...i'm pretty flexible on the budget I just want something good and problem free (unlike the RE's) and it sucks with no bass...

why get a 10w7 get a 12w7, 10w7 should be find though, just adjust ur gain.

The 10W7 is a nice driver. You might can find one for a reasonable price used. I would never ever buy one new.
