Jet Chip 90002S a good performance chip?

well i'd sure hope the superchips/edge evolutions work given they cost 400 bucks or so. average of 10% hp so i'd gain 25ish and 13% torque so i'd gain 40ish torque. is that actually feasable or is that more marketing bs?
i noticed a slight increase in the snappiness of throttle response. it isnt significant, but noticeable. the thing that is super cool, is i can correct my speedo, since i have 35"s, and when i re-gear the thing, i can correct for that. you just tell it what gears and what size tire you have. simple as that. and also changing shift points is awesome.

is yours a chip or an actual power contrule programmer? chips seem to be cheaper but don't as good a job and then programmer's actually let you custom tune your car.

apparently superchips doesn't make a programmer for my dakota they started em' for 98' so i'm thinking of going with hypertech. anyone have any good use of it or bad use?

hypertech is the other one i was going to consider buying. take a look at the options to see what it does, then compare it to the others. all of them are pretty reliable.

it seems like the hypertech is about the most vague on details:(. i'm still deciding though, drop 300 on a programmer gain 15hp and 30torque, according to the company or.....................

mine is well worth the money. but if you are running stock sized tires, i dont see any reason too really have one. you dont gain huge performance gains, but if you were looking for performance in a stock motor, all of those things add up in the end. the only thing i saw besides the whole tuning to compensate for my tires, was my ability to compensate and correct the speedo for my future upgrades. even though gas milage was better, it was minimal.

I dunno if you can find someone to do a dyno tune on your truck but if you can do it. I wouldn't waste $300-450 on a programmer that will give you like 10hp and 15tq IMO while I can get a dyno tune done for the same price which will be much better.

a programmer allows flexability though. i tune occasionally based on what i am doing. i tuned it today based on the fact that i had a three hour drive through the mountains.

I don't see why you would have to tune it cuz you were driving through the mountians IMO. A programmer will give you no where near the performance that a dyno tune will. I would never waste my money on a programmer.

you can change how it shifts, fan turn on and turn off temps, etc... when you have 35"s on a truck with stock gears in it, shift points are critcal when driving through the mountains because if you leave them stock your transmission will build up tons of heat hunting for gears.

****** cooler $50 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

not that it matters but, i already decided against performance for a bit and opted to order a 2/3.5" drop and ordering rims soon.
cool, i think you will be happier with a bigger change like that. a programmer is something you do once you are done with all the big stuff anyway.
