Jesse Jackson Comments

No. It brings up a whole other issue. When Imus voiced those remarks about the basketball team he was totally ripped apart, but when Jackson made this remark the reaction has not been nearly the same. So I reason that it is "ok" or not as bad for a black to make degrading remarks about another black, but if a white said the same thing it would be much worse.
Start a new thread then if you have a problem with how Imus is treated. Like I said, comparing how races are treated, then saying "Look at how racist you are" completely counters the point you're trying to make. All you're saying is that you want to play ball, too.

The whole thing was a set up.
Jackson KNEW the camera was on and Jackson did it to HELP Obama.

I mean come on, you don't go into the orielly studio at fox news and talk shit in front of a camera without knowing they will use that shit.

This is exactly the type of thing that Obama needs to distance himself from the "radical black preachers" after the incident with his reverend saying 'god dam america'.

It was obviously a political play and done purposively.
you people are all foolish for not seeing this for what it is... a political maneuver designed to distance Obama from prominent black leaders viewed negatively by white voters.

this guy knows what time it is.

contac Adio and Devillian00, both are active black users on this forum. Perhaps Decado2 also.

I had a black girl that said "Al Sharpton's crazy *** does not represent the black people". I assume that she feels the same way about Jesse Jackson

No way Ranger...........To me they are both the same. They are in a position where any race related thing they show up at is gonna get so much media attention because of it. They thrive off of being in front of the camera pretending to really care. Case and point: Nas album that will come out next week. I mean it's an album title. They did their dammdest to make him change the name of it. And for what? Publicity. Neither of them have ever heard a Nas album probably ever. But they both used it to act like they care about us. I could give a shit if any person regardless of color uses the word. It's not who I am, It's not what I am, It's just a word. SO I really don't see the difference in the 2. Other than the hair.

yeah, thats why he leaned over and whispered it during a commercial break

jesse has a alotta fukin balls even thinking that. i don't care that he whispered it to another african american during a commercial break.......... when a black man (or woman)with some power and a voice that people hear and listen expresses that black people need to take personal responsibility for their lives and the lives of the people that are very close to them, people jump up and diss them and calll them 'sellouts', 'uncle toms' 'aunt jemimas', etc. the same thing happened to bill cosby (and maybe dr. poussaint) and jason whitlock. if jesse and other blacks wanna focus on the bigger problems affecting society as a whole and black people in particualr, we been fukin doin that!!!! how many gat**** years do we have to rehash the same thing over and over!?

how many times do u have to have chest pain and people are telling u that you need to calm down and take nitroglycerin tabs? if u have chest pain 4 days a week and people are tellin you that, u are only fixin a minority of the problem........... u need to take personal responsibilty and change your diet and take your *** to the doctor!!!!!!!!!!! black people can keep talkin about racism, poverty, under-education, violence, etc. but until we talk and seriously, forreal IMPLEMENT personal responsibilty into our lives, we're gonna be in an eternal circle jerk.

slaves and former slaves talked about the same thing, but they had a duty of personal responsiblity to themselves, to their families, their communities and to their descendants........with no affirmative action, no protests and marches, no big, medium or small outlets to voice things. they just fukin did it.

talkin down to black people:rolleyes:.....outta ur gatdaam mind. the rate of single mothers in black neighbors is sky-high. and barack gonna tell a church full of black people that fathers need to be there for their families to head off a world of potential problems and jesse gon say he's talkin down to black people!?!?

edit: where's my man roland martin at??

Dude, people feel that way about you right now..........People can think what they want to. My point was Nas album title is not what's wrong with race relatioons in america. He and Sharpton used that as a vehicle to further curb the creativity of the artist. Shit is still the same despite all of their efforts yet they pick and choose when and when not to say something. his comments show you how phony he really is

i gave the 'eyeroll' cause if somebody refered to you , not in your face, but in your prescence, ,using the 'n word'. you'd care. if a cop called u a 'ni*g*' you'd care. if a teacher called one of your kids 'ni*g*' 'ji**aboo', 'spearchucker' or 'sambo'. you'd care. if the manager at walmart called your mother that, or the gynee refered to your pregnant sister as such or the contractors fixing your grandparents house called them racial slurs, you'd care.

of course nobody cares what racist or prejudice people think. i don't care what frank stallone thinks and kiki shephard doesn't care what i think. what i do care about and u too, is when what people are thinking comes out and they have a hand in your life (boss, dentist, professor, mechanic, etc.)

The problem is that many black people use the word themselves. Over the past 100 years black men have died so others would not have to endure that word and now young blacks toss it around like it's a joke. Then they expect the rest of the world to take it seriously. You have to respect yourself before others are going to respect you. (which seems to be the message in most of your posts)
