Jensen UV71 Problem

My friend's UV71 (7'' flip out DVD) seems to have a problem. Whenever he gets in the car and turns the headunit on, the volume starts out at 30 no matter what volume it was left at before turning it off. This may not seem like a major problem, but he has 149.Xdb system so it's a tad loud at volume 30. Is there any way to fix this, or is it screwed?

Don't know if it's the same on Jensens but in the options menu on duals you can set the volume that you would like it to start at so I'd look around in there.
