JBL vs. Profile

Which amp would be better to run two 400watt rms subs off of. A JBL 600.1 or a profile ca800. The profile is $70 cheaper so is the JBL alot better?

From what i have read doing searchs, the jbl might be the better choice for you.

Both are good amps. You wouldn't notice any

sound difference between them.

JBL.........600 x 1 @ 2ohms

Profile... 600 x 1 @ 4 ohms

If you already have your subs the ohm load might

be something to look at.

Both are good amps. The JbL is stable to 1 ohm tho so thats always a plus.

Also the JBL is underrated. So it would put out more than what its rated for at 14.4 volts. The Profiles out out exactly what they state and no more, no less. Didn't know they were 1 ohm stable.

Will the JBL produce 600w @ 1 ohm?

at 2 and 1 ohm the jbl will probaly put out like 650-700 watts. they do a pretty good job. if i were u i would maybe go with the ca1200 to get 900 watts. u only need 800 but more the merrier

Plus also with the CA1200 and the CL1200 you can get 410 watts rms x 2 channels with the dvc 4 ohms. Wire each sub in parallel to 2 ohms and put each one on their own channel.

or you can buy the jbl 1200.1 instead but dont get me wrong the profiles are reliable

eeh, good point, allthough he would have to keep the gains waaaaay down cuz all he needs it 400 rms to each sub and thats it. The JBL will put out 1200 watts at 1 ohm like he would have to wire his to, so that would be the biggest problem.

It wont run very hot maybe warm
