Ok... Also, how does the JBL's sound compare to Infinity? I know that JBL's parent is Infinity, but do they sound different?

The GTi's are better than the infinities. IMO. Just make sure you get a box built and tunes just for them, Also, get an amp that puts out around 700-800 watts at 4 ohms to drive it. When wiring, I believe you can bring impedance down to 3 ohms, but with the impedance rise from cabling, terminals, etc, it will be close to 4 Ohms.

the JBL Wgti subs (differential drive design) are the best SQ sub period..

take a look at the SQ comps for the last 7 years...Team JBL is #1

I have a pair of 12W7's...over rated my RF subs sound just as good

I have been building enclosures since the mid 80's and I have installed or owned

almost every woofer made and I run twin W10gti MKll subs in my car

I am feeding them well over 1200w rm each in a ported box tuned to 30hz

the more power you give them the tighter they sound

(due to magnetic braking on the out of phase voice coils)

and to top the cherry off I'm driving them with a Crown amp

I wouldn't own anything else...it would be MORE than worth the extra 20 bucks

they also have a 3 year warrantee

well the guy are the audio store, is comparing apples to oranges. i am a huge jbl fan and the subs does not even come close. personally that g2 will sound great, if you want something very comparable to the boston, then the parent company of jbl is infinity. infinity kapppa perfect vq. they are probably in the same leaque, if not, sound better than those g2's, plus they are the top of the line infinity's. that boston is a great sub, but the g5's would be the way to go, and the infinity's are comparable to the boston g5's. if the shop is a jbl dealer, then he might be a infinity dealer also (both the same company) i heard the perfects before and they just hit every note. im just throwing some options out there because some people are fixed into certain subs and there are atleast a couple of different subs to choose from. anyway good luck.

Harmon Kardon owns both JBL and Infinity to my knowledge.
