JBL Or Boston?

well the guy are the audio store, is comparing apples to oranges. i am a huge jbl fan and the subs does not even come close. personally that g2 will sound great, if you want something very comparable to the boston, then the parent company of jbl is infinity. infinity kapppa perfect vq. they are probably in the same leaque, if not, sound better than those g2's, plus they are the top of the line infinity's. that boston is a great sub, but the g5's would be the way to go, and the infinity's are comparable to the boston g5's. if the shop is a jbl dealer, then he might be a infinity dealer also (both the same company) i heard the perfects before and they just hit every note. im just throwing some options out there because some people are fixed into certain subs and there are atleast a couple of different subs to choose from. anyway good luck.

If you want a sub around 250, then grab the JBL W10GTi MKII

I found them around 220 a piece, and on ebay are around 200 a piece, will destroy the bostons. I have a pair in a sealed enclosure, and they get LOUD but stay sharp while doing it. They are very good subs, and I think even just getting 1 will give you enough bass. Search the forum about those subs, you'll find nothing but good on them.

EEAAKK!!! My bad. I didn't know he had a $200 limit. But even still, if you won't mind throwing an extra hundred or so ontop of your limit a friend of mine just got himself a 10" W6 of ebay for a little over $300 with shipping.

I don't know. I'm a just strong supporter of JL and Hertz but it's up to you. :)

i have to agree with u on the jl part and hertz part, but what i can tell you that a jbl gti would smoke the hell out of a jl w6, ported or sealed that is. as far as the hertz sub, your correct, but the jbl and hertz sub would be neck and neck.

Yeah, I'm in the market for some new subs myself and I keep leaning towards Hertz. That buddy of mine who got the W6 is very impressed, as am I. I gotta admit, for a single 10" it puts up some serious bass and it's only matched by the sound quality. But the guy at the car audio store that I talked keeps saying that Hertz is right up with JL in SQ and I found that alot of their products are cheaper than JL. But it might be all in where you're looking I guess.

just stay away from the GTO subs, they are the low entry level subs. The GTis are the better subs, and some of the best IMO out there. They have very good SQ, Gary Biggs has one with them numerous times. Just be careful wiring them, they have dual 6 Ohm Voice Coils.

Well.... What about an amp? I guess I'm gonna have to get a new one... I have a JBL somebody gived to me. 200x1 at 2 ohms, I'm pretty sure. The JBL CS300.1 But I wonder if that will be enough? You say 6 ohm voice coils; Whats the best way to power the sub? I'm kinda new at this...
