JBL Or Boston?

I'm looking at getting a 10" sub (or 2 maybe?) in a sealed box, and I was thinking about the Boston G210, but I talked to a guy at a local audio store, and he steered me toward the JBL GTO1004... Any good?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I am looking for a sub that sound good with light rock, like Jars Of Clay, and maybe some country. Would either of them be good subs? Any suggestions? I would like to stay under $200.

i thought that was the mid level jbl, but its the low one, i would deff do the G2 over that one, if you could spend the extra on the G5, its alot beefier sub is sq and spl to me, we sell them and i love the way both sound

the boston imo is going to sound way better, and it works in .5cubes apiece sealed, ive never been overly excited about a jbl sub except the GTI which sounded real nice

I'd go Boston over JBL even though I'm not to familiar with it, and in a ported box. JBL provides good home audio product, but as far as car audio goes, not so much. I made the mistake of getting the GTO series speakers in my car and I wasn't impressed. Also, a friend of mine has a single 12" JBL GTO series sub in his ride and it's really not that great. If your going for a single 10", I'd suggest a ported box for better air flow. If you really want a great sounding subwoofer go with a W6 or W7 by JL audio, or anything made by Hertz in the High Energy series.

so he's looking at under 200$ subs and your throwing out the w6 and w7?

does it have to be one or the other? are you looking for awesome sound quality or setting off car alarms. those are both entry lvl subs and won't be setting off car alarms so i hope you'd prefer to go with an SQ approach. personally i don't like the G2's very much. i don't know if the tens are punchier then my twelves were but i just wasn't impressed. and i have no idea about the JBL. however i would STRONGER recommend the Phoenix Gold RSD10.
