Jbl club - car sound install to a 3 door polo

Amp might be overheating because of a few things: 1) check sub to amp impedance. If the final ohm load is lower than what the amp recommends, it will heat up faster and will shut down/go into protect. 2) Bad grounding point from amp to vehicle chassis....a seat bolt isn't a good ground. 3) power/ground wiring not thick enough (gauge) go with the biggest the amp will accept.

 
Try running the sub channel into 4 ohms, sounds like you're just trying to over-drive it. Some amps will run hot, particularly after an hour of play, if its not going into thermal protect it's probably fine.

You could probably use more battery though, consider buying a good quality AGM for a secondary battery and upgrade your "big 3"

 
Thank you will fiddle with the ohm's on the sub and check the ground too that's all I can do for now and check the AH
