JBL BP1200.1 not enough for my XXX?

my box is already half a cube too big...

there is nothing wrong with my install...

the ed sub just sounds better you can feel it

more without it being just wicked loud and

overpowering...

i dont really FEEL any bass from the XXX... i just

hear it...

and its not just me thats not happy with the XXX... there

have been lots of threads popping up with people who

are disatisfied with it...

You know It's probably not for everyone. You might just be the 1 in 50 that don't like that particular sub. To each his own...

i think more than 1 in 50 probably dont like the sub...

but thats why we keep up on new products and frequent

message boards... so we can each mold our perfect

system for our own applications...

i dont mean to get cranky about the XXX... its a dandy

sub... i just get on a roll of aggravation and before

i know it ive posted in 12 different XXX threads about

my disgust...

i really think its got a lot to do with the car... i bet

if i tried jamming it in the sunfire i would have

a whole different opinion of it...

whats wrong is that youre going on here say... not every sub

is good for every person... and no matter how hard i want to

LOVE the XXX... i just dont... i want to... believe me... ask my

girlfriend... ive been obsessing over this thing for the past

few months... its gets crazy loud... but theres just something

missing...

why... you wanna trade for the magnum and see for yourself???

HEY man im in the same boat you are, ive had my xxx for about 4 months, i got a ported box and it got loud but sounded not good or accurate at all(boxs tunning was wrong), i built a sealed box and didnt like it was not loud enough, KNOW i bought a real slot ported to 30 hz , MAN when i put this box and let it bang i was like SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

ive had this sub for months and i was like disapointed but i KNEW it wasent the sub , it was my install, BUT

when i put my sub in the new box i had gotten a new battery cause my other died(too much power!) so i put one in, took out the xxx(powered by a kicker 800.2) so my kicker hadnt played in like a month, when i put it in ,**** that thing sounded so good, loud , and just incredible(with only half the power) BUT in 2 days i noticed a drop in spl and it got worse, know im doing like 11.5 volts! so obviously its my electrical system.

im about to install a HO alternator so i should be getting back to everyone soon.

the magnum is on my list for the next go around... i wasnt really gonna

trade... ive got to figure something out because nothing works for me...

then theres definitely something wrong. first, what gauge wire are u running? second, size alt? do you have a deep cycle battery? upgrade the big 3, deaden the shit out of your trunk... if by then your xxx15 isnt loud enough in your little *** car then you're deaf. it may also have something do with you box. for the 15 i would put it in 3-3.5cf SEALED despite what RE recommends which imo is too small (i think they do it to not scare people away with box sizes). for a ported box i would do at least 4cf, ideally 4.5.

I did take a multimeter to my amp and it was getting 14v but then dropped to around 12 when I was pounding it. I dont have the big 3. And my trunk isn't deadened. I DID put my XXX15 in my Magnum Box as Skeptical said and it doesn't sound that great. It only gets loud on low notes and then other times you can barely hear the **** thing. I don't get it. I was thinking maybe make a big *** sealed box, but I don't want to lose SPL. I prolly only have 4cubes to work with in my trunk tho.

theres your problem... your electrical system just cant keep up with that 1200.1 putting out around 1400w. best thing you can do now is get some wire and upgrade big 3 and get a deep cycle battery... and when u have the chance upgrade alternator cuz it might not last u for too long //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
