not possible, cd5000 is an excellent head-unit I have the gain set very low. If I was clipping anything it would have been long gone. This setup has been working great for nearly a year now. Now routinely the amp shuts off at volumes over 30 and always at 80 even with the gain turned down..i was suggesting the HU is clipping at max volume, not the amp clipping
