JBL Audio SUCKS!

I thought of this also but it now randomly shuts off. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif
I dont consider (max HU volume) to be a random situation

jbl tech support sucks. they told me to call a local service center not knowing they are the ones that suppose to setup an RMA.

****en morons working at JBL!

I mean what do you expect JBL to tell you.......switch the knob on the flux capacitor to 5? The only variable settings on the amp are controllable by you and only you

I've been using JBL amps for about 7 years now. I had a problem like this with a bp600.1. I switched head units in my wifes car, after I did that the went in to protect all the time. I figured out that it was because of voltage drop, so I rewired the amp and the problem went away. I have a p80.4 in my scion xb in the storage bin underneath the false floor in the hatch and I have never had problem with it, of course I don't turn my volume up all the way up either. Did you try and fix the problem before you called them. Rather then just thinking that your right about the problem why don't you take peoples suggestions and go try to lower the gains and see what happens. It couldn't hurt to try and fix the problem yourself.
