What kind of wattage would i get to each sub if i hooked to 12" Type Rs to one JBL 1200.1??
Oh because it is 2 Ohm Stable? No you can use your dual 2ohms and wire the load to 2ohms on the 1200.1 and get roughly 600W to each sub. Just watch your gains.
Your thinking of the pg xenon that puts out the same power from 1-4 ohms. The jbl can put out full power at 2 or 1 ohms, and the tantrum can put out full power at 2-4 ohms. Its not a good idea to run a tantrum at 1 ohm.gains are ALWAYS to be watched. They adjust the INPUT VOLTAGE, they are not output indicators. You should use a DMM to set them no matter what the sub is rated at. Clipping and distortion are the result of setting your gains too high. You adjust INPUT voltage to get the correct OUPUT voltage.
don't those amps put out the same wattage from 1-4 ohms?? Or was that the tantrum 1200.1??
then you'd be fine with the subs you have.
ah yes, the TANTRUM... the gains part was the more important piece of the statement though. So he'd be good with his current subs.Your thinking of the pg xenon that puts out the same power from 1-4 ohms.
