JBL 1200.1 too much for Kicker CVR's

I have 2 Kicker CVR 12's in a ported box thats currently on a JBL 1200.1, I know its probably way too much power, the kickers are rated at 400rms/800peak. I was wondering would it be safe to run them on that amp, I have the gain set almost half, and the bass boost at half, but I have all bass and sub settings on my Pioneer 6600 set low. I had them on a Audiobahn(I know) 8002T. Do you recommend putting that amp back on them, or would the jbl be ok? With the audiobahn, the bass was high at the lower volumes, thats probaby because the gains were set high and the headunit also. I also have a power acoustick LT-1400 setting around, what you recommend?

you should be fine with that amp... with the gains set like you mentioned you should be alright

distortion kills your speakers/subs, not over powering them.

same with bass boost.

ya turn the bass boost off on your head unit, and set your gains with a dmm
