jbl 1200.1 sound quality ????

I have had the jbl 1200.1 and the orion hcca 275g4 , I have to say the orion sounds 200% better than the jbl , on the same subs , I have had both on about 3 diff set of subs and the orion sounded better on them all , both amps are rated at 1200 watts the jbl at 2 ohm and the orion at 1 ohm , I have run the orion at 4 ohm which would be putting out 300 watts thats its rating at 4 ohm and the jbl should be putting out 600 watts at 4 ohm wouldnt you think the jbl would be louder and sound better ????? Im not to sure about the jbl , Anyone with any orion / jbl exp please give your opinions ?? Anybody running orion on here ?? Anyone know what the hcca really put out at 1 ohm ?v I know htey are underated and measured at 12 volts , Whats the real power output ??

Well what did you have the JBL frequencies set to? You also must be meticulous about the JBL power, it's a hog for power. Also, look at the price differences, the HCCA is a lot more expensive.

theres no comparison between that orion amp and the jbl. The orion amp is for components and speakers, not subs, and it will be a tad better in sq. The JBL is used mainly for pushing subs, plus its way more efficient than the orion. Plus its about 2-300 dollars cheaper!!!Just my 2 cnets

Hey guys here's a similar question. I'm choosing between a JL 300/4 to run focal componets and 1 sub OR run Kappa coaxils off Headunit and use a JBL600.1 to run the sub. I would save 180 on the JBL and 150 on the Kappa's. Would I lose major sound quality or would it be minor? thanx Todd

go with the jbl and the kappas, you wouldn't notice the sq difference bc its minimal. Infinity makes great stuff, and the jbl amp should be enough for your sub. Just my 2 cents!!!!!

thanx for your 2 cents, I have 1 10" JL prowedge rated at 250rms. Should I get the 600.1or the 300.1 I'm leaning towards the 600
