I played with it a little more and I just need to find more test tones and white/pink noise tracks to see how well it works. I am just unmotivated and lazy right now, I really cant get anything done right now. I will try again later.
RTA = real-time analyzer.. it analyzes your system and tells you how loud certain frequencies are. then youll know what frequencies need to be turned down to achieve balanced levels of frequencies

an RTA uses a mic to input data in a processor that displays a bar graph of a certain ammount of frequencies, and you can use this graph to see where your system needs 'eq work'.
ok well ill picc up that behringer emc8000 sometime. btu i need a preamp that will plug into my sound blaster live.. my sound blaster live only has headphone-sized outputs. what pre-amp will suit me? so then all i need is a mic pre-amp and RTA software correct?
i still dont know how a pre-amp is going to plug into my soundcard if my soundcard only has headphone-sized outputs. i dont even see any pre-amps that use headphone-sized outputs... isnt that what im looking for if i already have a mic and a soundcard??
