What to ship subs in.

Hey, I just bought a used xxx 15 that needs to be reconed and I was wondering what I should ship it in. I figured cardboard wouldnt work so should I make a crate like box for it and then put that in a cardboard box or what. Also how much is going to cost to ship this thing to RE. Thanks, Chief

Yeah, just make the crate. Thats what RE ships them in. Shipping will vary based on what company you use, and where you live. Id figure on at least $50.

The crate RE sends them in has plywood on top and bottom, with pieces of a 2" by 4" on each of the 4 corners, with foam stuck in there to help out too.

ship it in a box with a shiit load of stuffin (stryafoam - how ever da fuk u spell it) just make sure its got alot in there and you should be good, also i would get insurance on that beast since the postal service don't give a fuk and busts shiit up all the time

get a shet of styrofoam and break it into like 1-2" bits and fill the boxx in the bottom then place the sub then fill the whole box

Ship it with DHL. They usually tend to be the quickest and cheapest. I sold an amp to a guy in washington state (Im in Ohio), and it got there in two days.

The local shipping store told me its because DHL doesnt have all the ground facilities like UPS and Fed-Ex, so they fly things to their closest shipping dock.

ups was like 50$ and fedex was 36$ for my XXX15 coming from NY to RE place, he put it in a crate like RE uses

it will cost a little more but take it to a UPS Store and they will pack it for you that way they are responsible for it getting there in perfect shape and if it doesn't it is covered by them with a no hassle/arguement since they did the packing. Just make sure you put it in a thick plastic bag so that nothing will actually hit the tinsel leads, vc, etc.

I guess that will save some time if they can pack it for me. Does Fed Ex have the no hassle/ argument thing like UPS since they would be packing it? Chief
