Anybody pick up the new Jack Johnson "Sleep Through Static" album?

Album is good but im disappointed in the recording. Everything is recorded fine its just I hear a dam Hissing and a few buzzing sound. Either its their air conditioner and they forgot about it or its a tape hiss; or it could be all their Solar Powered studio?. Anyone else experience the hissing sound too? I honestly dont think its my equipment....

i listened to a ripped version, FLAC version, iTunes version, and the actual CD. I hear it in all of them....

this is why you should stop listening to pvssy music and turn up the metal

JK, but anywho, yea i heard it also on my buddies CD, not a fan, but i did notice the hissing so, i think you should write Mr. Johnson an angry letter

john mayer's album continuum has some terrible noises in a couple of the songs
lol its funny you mentioned that i just bought that album today, i liked it soo much i bought the album. i thought the noises may have been just the downloaded version i havent listenedto the cd yet. (which track in particular you heard it on?)

you are fag for saying that, have you even heard any of his music?. Jack Johnson is off the chain as well as Ben Harper fool.
Actually, I've heard quite a bit of his music. To me, it lacks energy and most of it sounds the same. I honestly don't know how anyone can voluntarily sit through his songs.

The hiss you mention is caused by the process of recording to analog tape, which will always have a more apparent noise floor than recording in the digital realm. Johnson's last album was recorded with almost all analog gear if I remember correctly. Analog still sounds better than digital in pro audio, yet it will always have some noise floor present, the type of tape and brand of analog recorder will determine that.
