so i recently bought an amp from someone on here. Im not bashing him or anything, im just looking for some input.
about a month later it blew and i asked him about it. he said that he had fixed one part and the manufacturer also fixed another part. i sent it to him and he said the output transistors blew and it will cost me about 180 to fix it and the fets that also blew by the power supply. i bought the amp for 200. he is saying that he wont cover it under his repair warranty because he says i installed it improperly. it worked for a month before blowing so i dont think that is the case. i installed it just like i do every other amp, speaker wires first, then power wires.
what do you guys think? Do you think it was my fault or just a defect with the amp?
i was also having a problem with a thump when my head unit turned off since i bought it. Do you think the thump could have been from bad output transistors as well?
