Ive done what I could, now i need your advice.

It is at your fingertips as well..I just picked up an old school High Comp for $7.50, and $6.00 for shipping on e bay, and looks fine, and works just as it should..Who says you need to buy new??You can find quality used, and try to win at auction as well, just an opinion.Yet, if you are into sq,and really enjoy music, and want that awww in your system, good amps, speakers, and a pre amp, is the way to go in my opinion.Boost the voltage/signal,that you are needing,as well as ability to seperate your amps/sound/hertz,ect.Very nice addition that i recommend, and have used since 92, and will never change,go back to straight amps/no control.
I second this. I have an EQX and I can't imagine my setup without it. Really helps bring down the way-too-highs and helps bring up the lows.
