I've been told I'm maybe not making the right sub choice.

If you don't have a clue to what you're doing, good luck on hitting 150+ db. It's not just the sub that gets you those numbers. It's the enclosure design, the airspace, etc. Maybe you should start off a bit smaller. And why are you so set on downfiring? it doesn't do much for you. most of the people that downfire only do it because they have no other options.

I'm not set on downfiring. I'm going to build the optimal airspace for the sub I do buy. I just need to make sure I get the correct one for my application.

I also noticed on your other thread you are worried about cargo room. If you want to have space in your hatch, buy an 8 or 10. An 18 is NOT the way to go if you are worried about space. Especially if your goal is to hit 150db.

besides laughing at what i'd like to do (i mean **** I'm sure you all have been there before..)

maybe I should just get two really really good 12's . what do you think?

your just asking for too much... you can't want 150+ and want to save room. Not sure if its a trunk car but if it is, hitting 150 will take virtually all usable space in your trunk.

I would do a pair of badass 10's on lots of power.

i think I lost my focus. What I started out wanting was really good powerful deep low bass.

thinking maybe the Fi q? then again would that be a good choice for what I still wanna do with my box?

I think with your install goals and restraints, the Q would be a much better suited driver. As for your output goal, You will not hit 150 with a sub in a wheel well from a trunk with a daily sub and daily tuned box. It may be time to reevaluate your goals. This may also require you to give up your trunk, or a large portion of it to achieve those goals. Either way, good luck.

x2....you dont know wtf you're dealing with trying to hit 150db and saving space son.....its not that easy

I used an 18" Q in 7.5 cuft tuned to 30hz sounded great and got loud as well... Haven't used the Mag but heard only good things about them. So my vote is for the Q. OR take a look at the IDMAXs. Very efficient(doesn't take a boat load of power to sound good), and will get loud. They are a little pricey compared to the other companies mentioned but worth it imo..
