I've been out of the game for a while, what sub is the "hotness" right now?

to be honest ive never had a hard on for the type r's neither. i wasnt impressed at all with the 12" my friend had in his civic. i know it wasnt in TCAB box but imo i didnt like it

basically everyone in my parking lot at school has a boner for type r's and they say how hard their system pounds, but i know my rl-p holds them over without a doubt

rl-p ftw!!!!

Are Type R's really that great? I heard the older model Type R's and hated them, they must have really upgraded the newer one's.
what set up did you hear it in?>

i was a fan of the 2003 model type r's they get really loud for a 300 watt rms sub imo

they get louder than the 2006 type s's and they are also rated at 300 rms

werid eh

the new ones get a lot louder and sound cleaner its really quite nice to see a sub of that price which can take some abuse

Actually I heard it in a setup at like good guys or something. My friend had 2 of the old type s and I wasn't a big fan of those either. The new type r's definately look a lot beefier. What would you compare the type r's too as far as how they sound? They kinda remind me of the eclipse pros.

some say they compare to the sx, but i don't think so.

Did you just compare a $99 pos to an Eclipse Pro?????

I'll give hte type-r a point for a cool basket and another point for a cool surround, but why would anyone buy a subwoofer that doest list the vc diameter, magnet diameters & weight, and coil windings, and xmax? Not to mention the lack of T/S.

cheap subs have cheap numbers, so why would the manufacture post them?

You honestly care about how much a sub weighs?

FYI, all those numbers can be found in the manual. (except for the magent diameter). If the sub performs as well as it does, who the hell cares what it's made out of?

nope, I was talking about motor size

You mean after I buy it?

What do you think determines if it performs well? The numbers I just mentioned are a good start.
