it still amazes me that I click on a post and it reads like that and I will sit there for a minute trying to make sense of it before I just say f*ck it what am i doing and click out of it.

Prior to the mid '70s, that wouldn't have sounded weird at all. Hertz as a unit of frequency really only gained traction in the '60s, and took until the '70s to displace cycles per second.

And the military was still predominately using "cycles per second" and "kilocycles" even in the mid-eighties...least my guys were. Kilocycles was mostly used in referring to radio freq's....
