It has begun *New Design and Build (pics)* USACi SB-1

like I said with the current amp (orion 1200) Im shooting for mid 140s...but when I get the power...in excess of 3k or so Im looking to be in 50s with alot of testing.
150's is definitely tough, especially in streetbeat. Heck, mid 140's is tough. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah...Im prepared. And ready, been saving and planning for about 7 or so months now. and Being that I live in Louisisana Building in the dead of winter is very possible. Got an Update on designing today to. And I know its tough...I wouldnt be trying if it was easy. The challenge is the best part for me, once I reach my goal I will probably tear this build down and start a new one.

anyways new designs with aero ports...disreguard the absence of flares. Box is to scale ports are semi scale. This picture is mainly for port placement, and if anyone has any objections please voice them.

Those are 4 inchers

Yeah...Thought about all of those things. None of this is set in stone, accept the BTL. The sub can move behind the drivers seat though, It will just take a little designing.
One thing you can do since you have 11" of depth is fire the sub up, but angle it back towards the rear wall so the box can still be less than 11" deep.

Although, I'm not quite certain that will result in a better score.

USACi is really gay about regular cabs. db Drag and MECA both allow the box to go past the b-pillar.

I can read the rules carefully, Im not quite sure on the mods for Street beat. Maybe I can go past the b Pillar and do a center console style dea or somethin
I could do streetbeat in my truck at the USACi show I went to, but I couldn't do SPL.

And my box goes quite a bit past the b-pillar. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

1. No constructed enclosure or speaker placement that may manipulate the SPL sensor may be placed forward of the “B” pillar and will be considered reason to reclassify the vehicle to the Port Wars or Super Port Wars divisions or disqualification. This decision will be at the discretion of the head judge.

2. Scores will be determined by an average SPL taken over 30 seconds. Only music may be played. (No test tones or sine waves).

3. Sensor placement will be any place in front of the “B” pillar facing forward with globe affixed or mounted to windshield without globe at 12” to the left of passenger’s side A pillar and 4” above the dash. (Competitor’s choice)

4. Choice of any commercially available music CD provided by competitor (No burned CDs).

5. 1200 rpm maximum (no revving engine during test).

6. Windows up or down, doors and/or sun roofs open or closed. Doors can be fanned but not slammed during the run.

7. In the event of a system malfunction prior to a score being recorded, the competitor will be given 5 minutes to make repairs and attempt to register a score.

8. Factory or factory replacement front seats must be installed in the vehicle in factory locations. Must have the front bench or both front seats.

9. No woofers larger than 8” inches may be forward of the “B” pillars. (Limit 4)

10. All woofers larger than 8" must be behind the back of the front drivers and passengers seats.

11. SB5 is the only class open to any vehicles that use a system voltage higher than 14.7 maximum or utilize multiple alternators. Any competitor meeting any or all of the above qualifications may compete in SB5 by choice.

12. Reruns are allowed.

13. Any current USACI member who competes in at least one Street Beat event will be invited to compete in Street Beat at the USACI world finals.

14. In the event an issue arises that is not covered above, the final ruling will rest with the on site event director.

Maybe ditch the 12" idea and go with 4 good 8's or 2 good 10's
