aight so im from so.cal but i bump anything 36mafia with a passion so anyways i know most of there songs got alot of high's like tiss tiss tiss tiss tiss so now my question. i have a pioneer avic-z1 but i ****! at settin up the eq. i always got to get my friend to do it for me but if i ever have to disconnect my battery it resets the whole unit. so can someone tell me how to set it for the highs and mids. i was told that as long as it looks like my EQ is 'smiling' i should be good. also i have no clue what all the 100hz,80hz,70hz, all that stuff is good for. my avic has 4 different Hz settings for each the lows,meds,highs. someone help !

How about:

Go and download a CD full of tones, then play the tones, and make a mental note which ones you want louder/softer.

Then, when you look at the eQ, you'll go,

"oh yeah! 34Hz, that was my favorite. Up."

and

"oh yeah! 1800Hz is a sound I never heard before. Up."

and

"oh noes! 4000Hz makes my brain bleed. Down."

i usually find a song with a ton of midbass/highs. earth wind and fire is probably my favorite for really listening to a system. i set everything flat and just see what it sounds like first, then start grabbing knobs that control what it needs more or less of and go from there.
