Still would have been a tight fit plus i already get 36 to the gallon so losing a little mpg won't kill me. it was recommended by a local car audio shop that i normally trust. and if i want to put a bigger sub in later i can (running more power) so i wanted it over built. can't really hurt rather have a solid tank of a box then one that will fall apart.

I wouldn't trust that local shop as it seems they are not sure what they are doing to be honest. I have put triple the power you have to a single layer enclosure with proper bracing and a double front baffle with on issues. As for fitting it would slim down 1.5" off any side that was doubled.

You will notice a decent loss of mpg and by mid summer when prices are worse you will regret it lol.

I told you before, you went so far over kill with that enclosure it was not even funny. It works, so no biggy, but it was not over kill it was just a waste of wood/time when you actually look at it from an outside perspective. However, if you like it...then who cares....

only time I had a box fail was with 140 pounds on a baffle with a 5k amp wired to .33. All in a single layered, single baffled modified prefab enclosure. Coming from an sq stand point though the double layered everything will technically clean up the sound, how ever in an unprepared car you will not hear a difference.

When you upgrade to a different subwoofer, it will most likely require a different box. But like you said, the only thing you wasted was a little bit of time and money.

yeah i want some better sq and the audio dude here said it will help. so i did it. i will do sound deadening when i get the chance. its a budget build for now but I'm trying to upgrade it slowly.

No but I guess there's an audio shop in Winona's mall called "Audio Designs" that holds some competitions haven't found out when they do though.
