Issue with my amp or possibly the sub?

I originally posted this in the subwoofer section (Sorry if this is breaking any rules) but felt it was more suited for this area after further thought.

I have a Boss Monoblock R2000M installed, running to two JL Audio 12s. I've had them for about a year and a half, never really had a problem. They run to my Pioneer AVH-x2700BS.

I turned the car on, and uncharacteristically the subs hummed the second I turned the car on (before the radio even turned on). Thought it was weird, but it was like 4am and I didn't have time to check on them so I just turned the control knob all the way down and drove out of the parking lot. About a minute - 2 mins later as I reach the stop sign, they start going nuts. The subs didn't sound blown, but the radio was paused and they just wouldn't stop bumping. So I turned the car off quickly, popped the trunk and popped out the RCA cables out of the amp to make sure it'd stop playing. Haven't looked at it or touched it since (this was 2 days ago). I figured I'd ask for any recommendations before I went and started messing with stuff. I'm assuming I possibly blew a fuse in the amp, but the more I think about it I'd figure the amp wouldn't work at all if that was the case?

First test to be done Id do..Is to remove the speaker wire/sub wires from the Amplifier, and test the Ohm load with a DMM(Digital Multi Meter),and check the ohms value.Of both subs together, and individually to see if they are correct.Look up a You Tube Vid on how to use a DMM on Sub woofers.Try that first.

Could also be RCA's.....they can be finicky at times.

Def check ground wiring and power wiring. Checking those items 1st rather than go out and buy new stuff will prevent the same problem down the road.

The general idea is- without being there.. None of us can help you.

It might be one of ten things.

Check wiring first I'd say as it should prove to be easiest. Check the ground. Make sure that Bosd amp didn't rattle it out. Maybe check the bolts holding your engine in too, might of rattled those loose too!

Lol- but; seriously.. Just start checking A to C...

If you think you popped a fuse.. Look? (Not the issue of the speakers go in and out with a hum.. You'd have ZERO power as there is no flow..) I'd say ground if it comes in and out humming.

Cross wiring causes mixed feeds (hummz0rs) too..but it's a old install so not the issue.

I vote ground.

*shrug*

You had to say the same thing the 3 posters did above huh?

Think OP gets the hint now...

I have the amp screwed into the rear deck plate. Being a boss, the clips were plastic and the top two snapped off so it's kind of bobbing in the air now ;_;. So I'm gonna imagine it's a wiring issue with the sway of the amp. I won't know for sure until I pull everything out and get it down from where it's mounted. Thanks for all your help guys!
